There were not enough hours in the day this week. It didn’t help that I have been sick and completely unproductive work wise. I ended up getting in bed around 8pm every night which left little time to work. Don’t you hate weeks like that? It always stresses me out to tell my body to slow down but in the end it is completely necessary. Most of the time it doesn’t feel like I can do it all. I want to come up with more creative content for this site but I need more help with Charlie (but I don’t want to give up the time I have with him) and I want to chat with you guys on social media/share more but I need to be more present when I’m with Charlie (really trying to put the phone down). Overall, it feels like I should always be doing more but at the same time it feels good to just be and take care of what’s important. I didn’t cook (except homemade chicken soup, mmm!) and only worked out three times. Blah. Next week is a new week!

Needless to say I am finally feeling better after visiting the doctor and I’m actually flying to Montreal tomorrow to celebrate my sister’s bachelorette party! I am a little worried about leaving Charlie. This is the first time I’ve been away from him for a weekend without Dave. Dave and I have taken two quick trips just the two of us but never alone. I am feeling this crazy mom guilt and anxiety that something will happen while I’m away or that it will be the last time I get to put him to bed. I am the worst at that – thinking about the worst possible thing that could happen in every situation. In the end, I know that this is needed. Dave goes on golf trips, work trips, etc. and I’m always home. I am going to let my self let loose a little bit (i.e.: go to bed at 10pm instead of 8 ;)). Also, I can’t wait for Dave to experience solo parenting for the first time – ha!

Anyways, if you have any recommendations for Montreal I am ALL EARS. On a completely random note, I want everything from Rebecca Taylor’s new collection. It is so feminine and happy and beautiful. Exactly how I want to feel this spring. Hope you guys have an amazing weekend! xx

  1. I just went to Montreal for the first time over Christmas and it was so pretty (and very cold). We had a great dinner at Maggie Oaks, but otherwise a lot was closed. That said, you HAVE TO have Montreal bagels from St Vaiteur Bakery. I was raised by a New Yorker and am pretty much a purist/bagel snob, but let me tell you that these are by far the best thing ever and you would be missing out if you don’t go! I highly recommend getting whichever type of bagel they have that’s the freshest from the oven…heaven! Have a great time 🙂

  2. It is soooooo healthy for Dave & Charlie to be with each other with you not around. So important for their bound!

  3. Absolutely love this look! And those flats are so cute! Whatever you’re doing, you’re doing great. As much as I’d love to see some “creative” content, I love seeing your looks and your gym routine…you always just have a conversation on your blog and I love that!

  4. Very pretty top! I can never seem to find the right florals for my closet. Enjoy your trip!

  5. Go eat at Joe Beef. Seriously!!!My #2 favorite restaurant ever!!! And Le Lab is awesome for drinks!

  6. So glad your feeling better, lady! Hope your event goes well tonight – wish I could be there!!!

  7. I am 100% the same as you – maybe worse! You’ll have an awesome weekend I’m sure as will Charlie with his daddy! If only I could do this! Great post thanks for sharing!

  8. Definitely go to Boda Boda, and amazing Nordic spa on an old barge in the river. It’s open late and it’s amazing to sit in a hot pool on the desk of the barge looking over freezing Montreal.

  9. Olive et Gourmando for brunch. Cutest spot in Old Montreal. Then walk around the cobblestone streets, there are cute boutiques and the architecture is amazing

  10. For shopping, check out SSENSE and Cahier D’Exercises (both on Saint Paul O), for brunch, Le Cartet on McGill is delish!

  11. I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well Me neither, and I’ve been getting into bed early too. You’re right though, we need to take time to let our bodies recover, but I’m terrible for that! Haha! Perhaps i’ll take my own advice this weekend and have a quiet one. 😉

I hope Montreal is fun, and this blouse is so pretty & spring like – just so lovely to look at!
