Packing for Colorado

packing list for a ski weekend in ColoradoDave turns 30 in March and over Christmas I surprised him with a weekend of skiing in Colorado. We are heading to Telluride in the middle of February and the two of us are so.excited. We are leaving Charlie at home with my parents (I am already so heartbroken to do this – did any of you leave your babies at 4.5 months old??) to allow Dave and I to have some time to ourselves which I am sad to admit we really haven’t since Charlie was born! I know it will be really good for us.

Dave has never been skiing out West and it has been years since I have hit the slopes! I am already dreaming of my packing list as my intention is to be equally stylish and cozy. Here is a little list of items I plan on bringing…

How amazing are the waterproof OTK boots? I mean talk about a necessity for life in Chicago!

My favorite weekender bag to ensure that I don’t overpack.

Distressed denim and my favorite skinny jeans.

A backpack to carry my camera and belongings while we are out and about.

Cozy layers (like this, this, this and this)

A bright ski jacket so Dave can find me 😉

My warmest and most dependable winter coat (not pictured), it is 3 coats in 1 and currently 25% off!

Fair Isle Sweater  //  Pom Pom Beanie  //  Barbour Gloves  //  Fringe Sweater  //  Faux Fur Vest  //  Illesteva Sunglasses  //  Jawbone Up 3 Bracelet  //  Nike Sneakers  //  Hershel Backpack  //  Patagonia Puffy Coat  //  BLANK Distressed Denim  //  J.Crew Turtleneck  //  OTK Waterproof Boots  //  Longchamp Weekender Bag

  1. This post is perfect. We have a weekend trip planned from Chicago to Park City in February. Especially with the rain this week, I cannot wait to get there for some snowboarding!

  2. My husband and I, along with another couple, are heading to Telluride in two weeks! We are so excited we have already started packing. Thanks for the great ideas!

  3. Your trip sounds amazing! Do have fun and enjoy your quality time together. I know it’s hard, especially the first time you leave them, but it really is good for the relationship soul. And the good thing is, he’s so young, he’ll never remember that you were gone! It’s when they get older that it gets tough. But still a necessary part of maintaining your relationship, I think. Plus, you’ll find (as I am) that you don’t want to go on trips without them anymore – you’d rather take them to new places and experience it all through their eyes. Love your picks, too!!! It’s making me want to plan my own ski vacation. 😉 xx

  4. You will definitely look adorable all weekend long!! I’ve been dying to go to Telluride; can’t wait to read about your trip! Make today work, Rachel CubicleCouture

  5. what a fun packing list! jealous! glad you two are getting a little escape… happy birthday to dave!!!

  6. Telluride is one of my favorite places in the world! When I was younger we lived there for four months every winter. You are going to love it! Do Sundance and Logpile for me– those are my favorite runs! Also, if you love thai food Siam is the best. 221 South Oak and Cosmopolitan are delicious too. Have an amazing time!
    Always, Hunter

  7. I live in Colorado and was just in Telluride over the summer. For a casual but delicious meal, try Brown Dog Pizza. They say its the best pizza ever, and frankly I think it might actually be (we went twice during our 4 day stay). I also recommend Baked in Telluride if you need a fast breakfast (they have the biggest donuts I’ve ever seen). Have fun!
