Spring Interiors

Interiors_1Interiors_2Interiors_3Interiors_4Interiors_5After what has felt like the loooongest winter ever, I am ready for a new season and a fresh start. I don’t know about you but I am this close to giving away every item in my closet and destroying everything in my apartment – it all just feels stale, you know? Maybe I’m feeling a bit stir crazy after being inside for almost 4 months straight but I am in need of some serious sunlight and warmth in my life. Does anyone ever feel like this? Like they need a restart button? And when you pressed it you would be given a clean slate to just start over. I am especially feeling this way with our apartment. After living there for 4 years, I’m ready for a change. This may or may not be actually happening {fingers crossed we don’t have to move} but either way, I’m ready for a bit of change. When Dave and I moved in together almost 2 years ago, we bought all of the big items to carry us for many years to come – a couch, chairs, console table, a bed, nightstands, tv’s, etc. so when I try to envision adding some light to the heavy pieces we already own it feels like a difficult task. I’ve been browsing a few of my go-to home sites to add a little airy-ness to our place and looking for pieces that feel happy – below are my favorites and you can check out my home decor inspiration here!

On another note, Sequins & Stripes is getting a face lift this weekend so when you come back on Monday there are going to be some big changes around here. I hope you love it as much as I do – it’s exactly what I envision for S&S – fun, interactive, stylish, and happy – and it makes me SO happy! Have a wonderful weekend, friends! Thanks for reading this week.

  1. This is just what I needed! My bf and I are moving in together, so I’m trying to find some pieces to make it feel like a home and add some style! Have a wonderful weekend!

  2. I hear you with the need to refresh come spring–while I’m definitely not in the market for a complete home overall, just changing my bedding from my heavy winter duvet to a fun, lightweight quilt from Anthro has made a big difference!

  3. Yes, definitely need a restart button! I recently cleaned out a lot of pieces in our home that weren’t “us” and were just pieces we’d purchased more as a space filler previously! It feels so good to have a blank palette to work with!

  4. Spring always makes me feel that way! I literally cleaned my closet out when I got home from work yesterday. I always feel better when I stream-line and start fresh. Can’t wait to see the new design on Monday :)

  5. TELL ME ABOUT IT. Our lease is up in June and I sort of want to move just so I have an excuse to start fresh…but I know I’ll be rethinking that when I actually have to pack and schlep all of our stuff to a new apartment. Hopefully this year we can get rid of some of those filler pieces we have and change it up with pieces we’ll love all year round.

XO! Happy weekend :). Excited to see the new changes on S&S – I feel like you just had your site redesign!

  6. I can’t believe it’s been two years since you and Dave moved in together?! I remember reading the post about you all moving in together like it was yesterday! Goodness has the time flown by.

But I am right there with you on feeling like your space is just blah. I’m thinking to feel refreshed in my space that I MAY be doing a little painting of my bedroom. I think a lighter, cheery color will help without having to do much else.

  7. The mountains in WNC had a bad winter so I know exactly how you feel. Especially with trying to now create a space that fits both my boyfriend and my taste for a new season is a little challenging but these pictures are great inspiration!! I can’t wait to see what you are going to be changing with the blog, I just did the same with mine because I thought it was easier to change quickly rather than my actual living space!
